In 1066, King William cursed the Great Phoenix. With the curse, the Great Phoenix's ability to be reborn was stolen from it, and put inside the Eternal Egg.
Two Egyptian tribes, the Tulna and the Wenou, were then tasked by King William to hunt down and kill the Great Phoenix as Templars hid the Eternal Egg. They succeeded and were charged with guarding the burial site.
But their shamans saw two different visions concerning the Great Phoenix after burying the creature. The Tulna shaman saw that if the Great Phoenix ever arose, it would case the world to suffer greatly. The Wenoul shaman saw the exact opposite.
Now, over 900 years later, the two tribes are enemies. The Wenoul seek the Great Phoenix, to bring it back to life and restore its ability. The Tulna are doing everything they can to stop them.
