At the height of the sun, a sorrel mare was picking her way towards the lake. Her ears pricked for the sound of a local herd, the mare walked daintily to the water, and bent her head for a drink. While drinking she stared at her reflection reveling in her beauty. As a gentle Eastern breeze buffeted her mane lightly the mare raised her head and inhaled the fresh air. She couldn't smell the local herds and at that knowledge wasn't in a rush.
Turning she plodded away from the lake, her hazel eyes wandering the horizon. It was time to travel, and she needed needed someone to travel with. Preferably a stallion, because what use would another mare be if someone attacked her? She was to pretty be ruined in a fight. As the wind kicked up again a new scent wafted over her, causing her to prick her ears at look back towards the lake with interest.
Eh, not my best start but It'll improve!

After taking a somewhat lengthy nap on the sun baked sand, Illusion pulled his facade to a level height to gaze around him. He shook his head violently to try and make himself at least a tad bit focused. After staring about for a bit longer her hauled himself back onto all fours. His legs where spread as to brace himself, though he only stood in this position for what seemed a split second. He regained his composure, rather quickly I might add.
He shook himself off making an attempt to shake off some of the excess sand. He snorted half heartedly before continuing on his way toward the water mass at a walk.
From someone elses point of view he may have seemed distant and withdrawn. That of course may be due to the fact that he was rather both those things. After quite a long absence from MUSTANG, he had returned. Only to find that Siran, his only reason for returning, no longer inhabited the region. He had shrugged it off even though he truly cared, deciding to continue his life here, hoping that by some slight chance he would find some reason to keep going on. It seemed to be a task that needed patience, which he lacked, but he kept pushing through.
He had reached the edge of the pool, the water lapping rythmically at the shore. He lowered his visage, submerging his lips into the luke warm substance. He grimaced at the thought of drinking warm water, gulping it down anyway to avoid dehydration. It was only common sense to do things you didn't want to do to keep your health up. Even if it took some self control.
Blinking a few times, he turned his attention to the flicker of movement from across the way. He scowled knowing full well he might have attracted the attention of another. He couldn't help his charming good looks, or so he thought. He couldn't quite make out all of her details aside from her fiery red pelt she seemed like just about any other mare. He shrugged it off dropping his muzzle back into the water. He could only hope she hadn't caught site of him yet, he might just be able to make his escape.

What's with the darkness fad going on? I've been living in the light, and seeing the dark, and yet, still no good has come of it.
The lazy scene before him was obscured and uncertain by the blur from his worn eyes. Who knew what lay ahead? He did, though his eyesight was poor and of little to no help for him. He had other senses, smell for one. In fact, he was using it now. The convex shape of his noble head lifted gently to face the sky, his nose flaring to gulp in scent. The stallion's withers reached a fair height of 16 hands evenly. Though he wouldn't be called tall, he could be called well muscled and even well built in sturdiness. His wavy mane brushed lightly over his dark black neck, and his forelock twisted and tangled cutely over his blind face.
The scent of a mare caused him to turn his head back to a normal level. Then begin a steady walk in her direction. His wide hooves clapped the ground, and his withers bobbing in every blind step he took. As he neared her, he concentrated on her outline. Yes, there it was, curvy and developed nicely. She seemed like she might be attractive. Not that that mattered to this dark knight. "Hello there miss." his lips parted into a genuine kindly smile as he continued, "It's a fine day. Is it not?"
He then peered over the lake, completely unable to see the towering stag on the other side. Deciding now was a nice time to quench his throbbing throat, the wild stallion knelt his neck to an arch as he drank the waters. Sure, it wasn't cold. Why would it be? In fact, when had he ever drank cold water? The stallion's reflection danced over the water, only to be broken by the ripples from his drinking. Though, of course, all of that was invisible to the severely poor-sighted fellow.

There he was, the scent she had smelt. A fine looking stallion drinking from the lake. Should I approach him? she wondered with a twitch of her ears. As she watched him, another stallion had wandered up to her, 'Hello there miss.' He began as she turned to look at him, 'Fine day is it not?'. Yes this stallion wasn't as handsome as the one on the other side of the lake, but he still wasn't bad.
Parting her jaws she replied sweetly, "Why hello there, kind sir. It is a lovely day. Are you of a herd that lives here?" Looking from him she let out a whinny at the stallion across the lake, "Hey, you. Come here if you please?" She didn't mean to sound demanding, but this handsome stallion interested her.
Looking back at the stallion near her, she appraised him again. He was a tall black stallion with a wavy black mane. He didn't look half bad and after this second appraising look she reminded herself the pay him more attention. He at least seemed like a gentleman, and that was good- right?

Just as soon as one on looker appeared, so did another one. Why was it that he always seemed to draw a crowd? When he was born. . .crowd. When he joined Superb. . .crowd. When he left superb. . .crowd. When he left MUSTANG . . . crowd. Could a man have any peace in this world? Apparently not with all the inhabitants.
Finally coming to the conclusion that they probably weren't going to bother him he let his muscles relax, tuning in and out of their conversation. Partially out of boredom. Though it wasn't much of a conversation mostly just a greeting.
Then it happened. After about a moment of bliss he was interrupted by a sharp whinny. Which he assumed had come from the crimson fae. For it was a rather feminine call, and if it had been the stallion he would have been sure to mock him. Since it wasn't he continued to stare into the water flicking a soldier in their general direction to show he was actually listening.
Her words rolled over him like a wave. Cocking an invisible eyebrow he pondered his next move. He was quick when it came to making decisions, and witty when it came to word choice. But the next phrase didn't quite show off his full sarcastic potential.
"I don't please, but if it gets you off my back i'd be obliged." He sighed before wading through to the other side. Coming onto the shore, water rolled off his sides in sheets. Henna lanterns studied the mares features for a moment. "You asked for me sweet heart?" He eyed her, smirking. If she wanted his company she was going to have to deal with the asshole greeting and then the slightly nicer attitude that followed.
