I know I was just recently away, but now something else has come up.
Yesterday, I brought Ace, my 1 1/2 year old Border Collie to school to use him for a herding demonstration for my Ag classes. Well, he did his job all the way up until fifth period. During fifth period, he herded just fine but then he got ahold to a strange plant. He started foaming at the mouth when he ate it, but then he was fine. I took him back to the classroom and then he collapsed and started to have a seizure. I took him out of the cage and he began to shake all over, then he had another seizure. That was when I grabbed my teacher's phone and called the vet's office, they told me to bring him right away.
( Also, the day before the same thing had happened to my teacher's five month old border collie, but it wasn't as severe. Also, months before a pig had had seizures although we're not sure if it was the same cause )
Well my teacher took him to the vet and then I brought him home. Today when I got home, my mom told me that he had another seizure and he wasn't responsive. On the way to the vet's office, he had had another seizure. Once there, he was unable to walk correctly, and later on he had another seizure. Right now, he's heavily sedated and he's on IV's. The vet told m that he might not make it.
So, I am highly worried and I'm praying for him to pull through. Ace has been a very good friend to me all these months, and I don't want to lose him because he has done alot for me. When he was small, his dad died from an accident and that left my teacher heartbroken. Since Ace resembles his dad so much, me and my teacher are working to find out what the heck this plant is and see if there is an antidote. I don't want to lose him.
So, I am going to be away. I apologize, but I can't sit by and do nothing. I have to do something. I went to go see Ace today, and I hated to see him like that. I'm used to seeing his hyper, jolly self and today he's just...different.
Once again, I apologize, but this is just something I have to do. Sure, I may seem a bit strange for acting this way towards a dog, but he means alot to me.
Thanks for understanding. Love you guys.
This is Ace btw
