It's sad but true, our dear site may be on its last leg now! But I've worked so hard these past couple years, and I really don't want to see us die out completely. So, as the staff have tossed about, we are thinking about a MUSTANG V2! Perhaps a natural disaster or disease pushed the current inhabitants of MUSTANG out, and they have to find a new home. We could choose to get new characters or bring over some of our own, as well as get new lands and herds!
Along with this, we'd have to decide on a plot for our new site. Should it be the exact same plot as this site, or should we get a bit more creative, as other sites have? All ideas are welcome! I'd be happy if you all would contribute! :]

I think it's brilliant Wicked! That's just what we need! People have been talking about how MUSTANG has somehow, "changed" and what's more muse-y than making a whole new site? I sure like it. Maybe it should be different in some mild way, it seems like most horse rps are fantasy and MUSTANG is unique for staying realistic. Though it is awfully tempting to drastically change it... The question is, what should have happened to the land of MUSTANG to kill/migrate the horses? I just hope that muse boosts and all the MUSTANG members come to the new Mustang V2! I almost think it'd be fun to bring in other species, like donkeys or something. You could maybe buy in the store? Haha just a wild brainstorm idea to bring in other animals than horses. Though of course they would be in the same family. :P

I do think this may help bring in new members, not sure if old members would follow hope they would. But I do say it could help out give us a fresh start brighten things up and give some new muse. I just want to know from members that have been on for the longest time to them what has changed and how they think it could go back the way it use to be? They say it's changed but how? Why? They don't say much to how it could be better for them to stay and why is it a chore?
Anyways I really like how it is right now. NO FANTASY!!! Please I beg you, I LOVE the realistic aspect. I had the thought perhaps a mass round up by humans wipes out most of the herds and the land is turned into farm lands that force the horses to move. It'd give a interesting idea of how people could bring about how their horses escaped or broke free or was just lucky that the humans choose to let a select few return to wild. I think that would be a more natural cause of why they would move? Or the numbers of bear and wolves have increased that start to kill off the horses not sure. I would definitely want to bring most of my beloved horses with me though. This is just a few of my ideas to give to ya'll.
I don't find many sites I come to love and care about and this is one of the rare ones I'm willing to fight to keep alive. I've grown to love my chars and actually have a place to get my child-hood horsy fix. I'm here to stay!!! |

I completely love this idea. It would feel like the old MUSTANG would have returned. Everyone would get a completely fresh start, and histories could start a new with the old histories still being included but you know in the past? Well anyway, its a fantastic idea. Perhaps it could be less strict and the site could concentrate on having a more 'fun' enviornment? :3

I'm loving all the input! Thank you! And it would still be MUSTANG, but with a facelift! Or, let's say, MUSTANG's child XD The same site, just updated and new! You could bring over old characters if you want, but wouldn't have to.

I'm lurking and feeling the pull of muse as I read these ideas. How about for a reason why they leave: There's a giant hurricane (or humans could do this), and lighting sets everything ablaze. There's little to no food, and so the horses are forced to move. If humans did it, it could be from a battle or something and the fires they set got way out of hand.
I also agree, we should have donkeys/burros, since there are wild burros :3 Perhaps, we could do north/south/east/west again (since I'd think the horses would have scattered in all directions), but this time have a few more areas in each (expanding the boards) so there's places that have a harem or two roaming, and then there's the actual larger herds. Harems/bands could be limited to how many are allowed so that horses could challenge for a place in the group.
That's my two cents. And I'm thinking of bringing Alaric back~ Blaidd and Ares would come with as well as a few others, if I do return :3 |

My ideas concerning harems:
So while in the shower, I had a fabulous idea! Crazy, but true. Harems are more realistic, and we do try to be realistic on MUSTANG. But they were so difficult to handle last time, because there wasn't a specific land where that harem stayed, right? But with herds, there is a specific herdland. However, they aren't as realistic, and they limit those they don't have a herdleading stallion. So, here is what I propose.
Instead of herds, we should have harems. This would give every stallion a chance to be a leader. However, I also think they should be able to "claim" a land. Each "land" they wish to claim would have a harem requirement. Let's say, four mares. When that stallion has four mares in his harem, he can claim a land for his harem to stay. Once he has eight mares, he may claim another land. However, other stallions may challenge him for both his mares and the land or lands that he may have claimed!
This way, every stallion has a chance to have a harem, inactive harems will disband naturally (which means no "post every five days" requirement), and there will still be a chance for stallions to have a land where there harem stays.
What do you all think??

Oh Wicked that is a fantastic idea! And that makes the stallion be active and make them go and interact with other members to claim their mares. I like that.
